此為2020年「不朽的青春—-臺灣美術再發現」展覽的音樂專輯，由王榆鈞製作，此專輯為美術與音樂的跨域對話，為歷史的原創畫作注入當代的音樂註解。鍾玉鳳以琵琶、三弦、月琴為「傳統的變異」的篇章錄製即興演奏，此專輯入圍2021年金音獎「最佳民謠專輯」。

After the important 2020 art exhibition “THE EVERLASTING BLOOM—-Rediscovering Taiwanese Modern Art,” Wang Yujin produced this album of compositions inspired by the exhibition’s paintings, musical pieces that came about initially as background music for the exhibition’s audio guide. The album is a cross-disciplinary dialogue between the worlds of art and music, infusing original historical paintings with contemporary musical annotations. Chung Yufeng recorded improvisations on the pipa, sanxian, and yueqin for the chapter “Reforming the Tradition.” This album was nominated for “Best Folk Album” in the 2021 Golden Indie Music Awards.

This album was produced, written, and performed by Taiwan’s prolific artist, singer, and social commentator Sandee Chan, one of the most potent and innovative voices in the world of Mandarin pop music. The album title “Juvenile A” echoes the name of an observation group in the anime Akira. It is a reflection on the fragmentation and prophetic nature of information relics as seen from dislocated time and space. Chung Yufeng participated in the arrangement and performance of the song “Fair Lady Works Shuttle,” which is a dark satire of the collective pretense of social media. Sandee Chan was awarded the 2020 Golden Melody Award for “Best Producer” for this album.

This is the second album of the “Fade to Blue” project, which continues to combine the heterogeneous sounds of two musicians as they expand and refine new interpretations of tradition and musical narratives. The album is not only imbued with new interpretations of Koa-á-hì Taiwanese opera and folk music elements, it is weaves stories of ethnic Chinese immigrants in North America into the musical narrative. Collaborators on the album include singer Wanfang, back-up vocalist Wang Yujun, traditional strings musician Chin Kuo-shiang, and Hammond b3 organist Tseng Tseng-yi. The tones and rhythms of the album reflect the swelling of the tides as island meets sea, measuring the drifting of people and the pulse of the ocean. This album was awarded the 2021 Golden Indie Music Awards for Best Folk Album and Best Musician for David Chen. James Catchpole, music critic for the British folk music magazine “Songlines” published an article recommending the album. It also reached number 4 on the monthly World Music Charts Europe.

日本沖繩民謠大師平安隆的個人自傳體作品，平安隆的音樂歷程宛如一幅沖繩的音樂歷史圖像，他以沖繩三線、吉他、歌聲一路講述迷人的故事與記憶。鍾玉鳳在此專輯為傳統民謠〈月昇之時〉特邀演奏，此專輯參與音樂家有由吉他手大竹研、貝斯手早川徹、鼓手福島紀眀組成的「音伏線」樂團；歌手萬芳、布坦菈‧碧海；薩克斯風手謝明諺與民謠改編者王榆鈞。

This is album is a personal autobiographical work by the Okinawan master musician Takashi Hirayasu whose musical experience traces the course of Okinawa’s musical history. With his Okinawan sanshin, guitar, and vocals, he narrates enchanting stories and memories of the island. Chung Yufeng was invited to play the traditional folk tune “As the Moon Rises” on the album. Other musicians on the album include guitarist Ken Ohtake, bassist Toru Hayakawa, and drummer, Noriaki Fukushima, as the band “Infrasound,” as well as singers Wanfang and Putad Sapoh Pihay, saxophonist Mingyen Hsieh, and folk arranger Wang Yujun.

Chung Yufeng’s album of pipa compositions is the culmination of ten years of cross-border collaborations. In this critically-acclaimed album, Chung Yufeng carves out a new creative space for the pipa, a four-stringed lute commonly associated with classical Han Chinese culture.  Yufeng’s compositions serve as the blueprint upon which each piece is woven together in unique temporal and spatial contexts by a diverse group of musicians. The pendulum of this collaboration with musicians from Germany, India, Hungary, Indonesia, and Sweden swings back and forth through the worlds of the traditional and the contemporary. This album was awarded the 2018 Golden Indie Music Awards for “Best Musician” and “Best Non-Mainstream Genre Album,” reached number 3 in the monthly World Music Charts Europe and was selected for the annual World Music Charts Europe Top 20.

“Asian Connections” is an innovative project initiated by Malaysian producer Evelyn Hii bringing Asian flavor to jazz music. As a part of that project, this album was recorded live at No Black Tie in Kuala Lumpur and is based on the compositions of Venezuelan jazz trumpet player Michael Simon. The album features performances by Taiwanese saxophonist Minyen Hsieh and Malaysian musicians: pianist Michael Veerapen, drummer John Thomas, and bassist Daniel Foong. Chung Yufeng not only contributed pipa performance to the album, but also her composition “The Sleepless Cuckoo (in 9/8 Time),” as her attempt to articulate the language of jazz through the pipa.

Music for the documentary “From Border to Border,” which depicts the harsh, long journey of a group of Chinese immigrants who first migrated to India during the 18th century and whose descendants remain there today. Yufeng composed the theme song “From Border to Border” and arranged four additional pieces for pipa. Both the film and the soundtrack have enjoyed acclaim in Taiwan’s independent film circles for bringing attention to  an relatively unknown group of Chinese immigrants and the contemporary issues they face in relation to urban life and racial identity.

Yufeng plays the Okinawan samisen (a three-stringed, fretless instrument similar to the banjo) and the pipa on “Okinawa Mama” and “As You Lay Me Down to Sleep,” two songs on this album by the Muddy Basin Ramblers, a group of American and UK expatriates living in Taipei who perform American blues, swing and folk music. This album was nominated for a Grammy award for best recording package design in 2014.
